We've been seeing a lot of reports of the HTC Thunderbolt having data outage. Many users are reporting to only having "1x" on their beloved 4G phones. We gave Verizon Wireless a call to see what was going on, and sure enough there is a nationwide outage. The odd thing is that they told us that it was not affecting all HTC Thunderbolts, only some. We are having the "1x Blues" as well, are you? Let us know in the comments below!

Update: After searching around a little more we came across this from XDA member, wakestrong:

• Go into dialer and dial in ##778# and hit send
• You will be given 2 options, "View" and "Edit" select "Edit"
• The password is 000000
• Scroll to "Modem Settings"
• Scroll and select "Rev. A"
• Select "Enable"
• Hit "menu" and select "commit modifications"

That's it, your phone will reboot. When your Thunderbolt comes back on you should have 3G again. We call this a temp fix because the Thunderbolt runs on the eHRPD network to allow for faster 3G/4G switching, so we suggest switching back when the outage is done.
